With a substantial rating advantage on all boards, Ealing B showed no mercy in despatching the juniors from Harrow in this Hillingdon League Div. 2 encounter..
As is often the case however, the score-line does not tell the full story: while Jan wrapped up his win quickly most of the other games continued deep into the evening.
In my own game, I played the opening very poorly and arguably stood worse in the early middlegame but, courtesy of some inaccuracies from my young opponent, I won the exchange. I was confident in converting the endgame but, on the 57th move, an inaccurate rook move left the door open for Black to get a draw. Happily for me, the opportunity was missed and with KQ+R vs. K I of course won but not until mate had been delivered!
On the other boards, Martin, Tony and Simon all methodically overcame any Harrow resistance to secure the whitewash.
